Rooftops can be particularly difficult environments in which to provide effective conventional fire detection, despite containing increasingly significant fire risks such as plant, electrical equipment and solar PV installations.
This demonstration shows Ciqurix video fire detection monitoring a rooftop area from a remote position and responding to multiple controlled test fires. The footage demonstrates detection of fires at different positions across the monitored area, including rapid detection of multiple fire events.
Because video fire detection identifies flame directly rather than waiting for smoke or heat to reach a detector, it can provide an effective means of monitoring exposed rooftop environments where conventional detection methods may be impractical.
